Rishikesh is known as the City of Temples, Yoga and Meditation and is a popular destination for tourists and religious pilgrims. Hugging the banks of the Ganges just as it flows out of the Himalayas, the town is a great place to relax and escape the heat. Whether you’re seeking a guru, yoga lessons, Ayurvedic healing, white water rafting or shopping, Rishikesh is well worth a visit.

We never made it to Rishikesh while we were in India, but I think that it would have been at the top of our list if we did. Great shot.
It’s a sweet place. Pretty quiet, by Indian standards. Windy and pretty chilly at the moment but not too bad…
Thanks for the comment. Ya’ll be safe out there!
Looks insanely gorgeous!
I love this composition. It even makes the Ganges look, well, salubrious. We’re in India next year, so here’s yet another place to think about…
It’s been a pleasant surprise. The Ganges here is pouring straight out of the mountains and is a beautiful blue-green — very scenic.
Beautiful Panorama shots! You get a feel of the location is like right away…amazing!
Thanks, Sarah!
Some days back, I watched a video clip on youtube by centrumbezielen related to yoga, meditation and life in Rishikesh. Its was an awesome video which will give you inspiration to learn Yoga and Meditation. Rishikesh is a good place, where you can see so many priests and sanyasis.
yeah, there are SO many ashrams, meditation centers and yoga studios here. Plenty of temples as well…
That photo looks like it is out of a fairytale or maybe it is Shangri-la.
Thanks! It’s a lovely spot.
