Photo Friday: Low Tide at Night, Railay Beach, Krabi Province

“The most beautiful beach in Thailand” thwarted all of my attempts at catching a sunset on film. I stayed two nights and huge storms rolled in on both evenings — with heavy winds, torrential rain, and amazing lightning displays.

A postcard pic would have been nice, but I really love a good storm, so I wasn’t complaining. After waiting out the rain on the second night, I headed to my hotel room and found that the low tide on the east side of the bay had left many boats high and dry and the water eerily calm.

Storm photos are so much more interesting than sunsets. You said you wanted to capture on film, did you bring a film camera as well? I left mine at home, it didn’t make the final cut.
