Guarding the rice field, Thma Kreae village

Today, I rented a motorbike for the day and followed the Mekong River, just outside of the town of Kratie, in Eastern Cambodia. The road is rough, but lightly-traveled and the scenery is stunning. I think it’s the best six dollars I’ve ever spent.

another stellar batch of shots, wes, thanks!

man, I love the Cambodian countryside, especially with the mighty Mekong as a backdrop.

think you’ll make it over to Battambang at some point? don’t know if I’ve seen anything as stunning as the provincial countryside at the tail end of wet season; my eyes were almost aching from the intense, vibrant greens of the lush paddy fields, just gorgeous…

Thanks, man. Riding along the Mekong on a bike has been a real highlight. Get out of town and everyone is thrilled to see a foreigner — nothing but smiles and waves…
