The only way into or out of Railay Beach is via a longtail boat. The morning I left, the sky was overcast and the water was dead calm — I could hardly tell where the sea ended and the sky began.

Love it! Makes me think that’s how Life is sometimes. A bit murky. One can’t always distinguish fact from fiction. Which way to proceed?
Great picture, man! It looks like the boat is floating in the air.

I am planning a trip in November and long for a return to Thailand as I love the beaches, the ease of getting around (VIP bus is fantastic for long distance travel), the amazing food, massaaaaages and the warm welcome from people who really value their tourist visitors! But I think I should challenge myself to something new and as I missed out on Vietnam on my RTW trip in 2004/5 because of typhoons I am really looking forward to your tales from that country. Do you have a favourite beach/region in Thailand?
I haven’t spent a ton of time scoping out the beach scene but I really liked the Krabi province and am anxious to go back. The combination of huge limestone cliffs and sandy beaches is just amazing.
This picture is the perfect depiction of my mood when I first left Railay Beach. For various personal reasons my experience there had the most profound impact on my life. Leaving was full of a mixture of emotions. I could not tell where the sadness ended and the joy began.
