12 Photos from Venice, Italy
Monograms Travel. The trip was amazing. I hadn’t been there in 15 years and it is still one of the most beautiful man-made things I have ever seen.
Monograms has a very unique take on the tour mentality, taking care of the hassles of travel while allowing you to move about independently and explore on your own. I’ll go into it in more detail in the next post but I think they’ve struck the perfect balance.
I had thought of a similar service a couple of years back only to discover that they’d been doing it for ages. I hate it when someone steals my ideas before I even think of them. It’s just rude.
Interested in buying a $40,000 gondola?
Piazza San Marco is the principal public square is the busiest spot in town so we visited after dark.
It’s not Venice without some laundry on the line.
It gets a little crowded.
Still sinking after all these years.

Agreed: the back streets are where’ most fun. And since it’s a bunch of islands, you can only get *so* lost (or drown, I suppose…
Gorgeous photos – and the perfect poignant note to end on. It’s so sad how all of this art and history and stunning architecture is slipping away from us. This post just makes me want to visit again, before it all disappears.

I’ll never get tired of seeing pictures from Venice. It’s the destination I visited back in 2011 that convinced me that returning to work after the week was finished was the worst idea ever.
I owe the past two years of full-time travel to Venice, and I love it so.

Great photos. The window one is just so clean and simple. Nice eye. I hope you brought the elephant with you from that last post because how will he now know it’s 5pm without you having a beer along side the street!

It’s sad how much the place has gone to the tourists, but it is undeniably beautiful, so it’s still worth a visit … thanks for these amazing photos of Venice!
